Board of Directors
Box Office
As an all-volunteer theater, we only staff the box office one hour before curtain on performance nights. The easiest way to make reservations is to email us your request to winnieboxoffice@gmail.com. Please include the date of performance requested, names of members and number of non-members. We will try to accommodate requested seating preferences, giving priority to our members. A phone number where you can be reached is also appreciated. Sending us an email allows us to easily reply and confirm–usually within 24 hours–the availability of seats. If you prefer to make your request by phone, call 815-232-7023, and leave us the same information. You will receive a call back, but not sooner than two weeks before the opening performance. Calls close to performance dates may make an immediate response difficult. Please understand that we are working within the practical limits of our volunteer staff.

Mission Statement
Winneshiek Players, Inc.’s purpose is two-fold:
1) To provide quality, live theatre for our membership and the community at large, and;
2) To provide our members, and those in the community who have an active interest in theatre, an opportunity to use their talents and energies in the production of Winneshiek shows.
The basic support for the corporation is its dues paying membership. This group represents the main source of funding, talent and manpower. The corporation shall continuously encourage new people to become involved in order to broaden the base of support, and to offer the maximum number of people an opportunity to take part in the theatre experience.
Theatre Rentals
The Winneshiek Theatre is available for use by other organizations for shows, speaking engagements, weddings, and other events which do not conflict with the regular season productions. Email the theatre at info@winneshiekplayers.org for more information.
Winneshiek Family
One of the wonderful things about the Winneshiek Theatre is that it exists for Freeport and the surrounding communities. We are supported by your generous donations and memberships, making you feel very much like a part of the family. This truly is your theatre. Whether on stage, back-stage, or in the audience, Winneshiek volunteers and members can take pleasure in getting together with old friends and making new ones while enjoying the performing arts.
Volunteering
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the theatre. Many people devote long hours in bringing a play to life on the stage. Each person contributes unique talent and skill. Each volunteer is a part of each keystone on every flat, each stipple of texture on the scenery, each stitch of the costumes. We share the joy when the lighting enhances that beautiful moment. We take pride in the laughter or the tears that the actors evoke. We delight in learning new skills with each show.
Why not share the magic? If you’ve considered getting involved in community theatre, now is a great time to get started! Just call the theatre at (815) 232-7023, or fill out the form below and we will take it from there!
